ABOUT US |
|
Macquarie has reported successive years of record profit and growth since 1992, and now employs more than 4,500 people across Australia and in 22 international locations. Macquarie listed on the Australian Stock Exchange in 1996, and now ranks as one of Australia`s top 25 companies by market capitalisation. Since listing on ASX, the Bank`s growing number of shareholders have benefited from a return on equity consistently exceeding 20 per cent.
Macquaries growth strategy is to expand selectively, seeking only to enter markets where we perceive there is a genuine opportunity to add real value. Two of the primary advantages this approach offers are the flexibility to enter new markets as opportunities arise and the freedom to respond to the special requirements of individual markets in the region and around the world.
Key to Macquaries success is a distinctive management style that provides individual businesses with a balance between operating freedom, and controls on risk limits and observance of professional standards. It is designed to be non-hierarchical and encourages a sense of ownership and entrepreneurial endeavour across the Bank. |
